The Marcela Suite

Located in the main part of the original C18th building, at the top of the main staircase and almost in a wing of its own, this grand suite has many admirers. The magnificent bay window overlooks the terrace and grounds and GreyFriars’ famous ancient Holm Oak and fills one with a sense of occasion. The bay is home to twin chaise longues, perfect for lounging on. Alternatively, you may prefer the large comfortable armchairs by the original C18th marble fireplace. The suite is luxuriously fitted with Venetian chandeliers and wall lights, fantastic Timorous Beasties “Birds ‘n Bees” wallpaper, tremendous Indian silk curtains and more. The effect is one of luxury, elegance, space and comfort. Through a bespoke jib door you will find the dressing room/study with an original Venetian window and from there down a small C18th flight of stairs, you will enter the bathroom. Clad in Italy’s Statuario Venato marble with Nero marble on the vanity units, the bathroom, like the suite itself, is exotic and luxurious.
